The Keay LII wine amphora is a short flat-based amphora type produced in the Sicilian-Calabrian area between the middle of the 4th and the 7th century CE.
Widely distributed in southern Italy, in the north-western sector of the Mediterranean, as well as in north Africa and occasionally in the eastern Mediterranean. So far, their presence in Egypt is rare, as it is shown in the map. (Cover image, from Caputo 2019, Fig. 10.10.u).
